A lot of people think of Lagos, Nigeria when the phrase Detty December comes up, but Ghana has adopted the Detty December as well, although their government do not want the name associated with them.

Detty December is a phrase associated to Nigerian afrobeat artist cum serial entrepreneur Mr. Eazi after he started his Detty Rave party in Accra some years back. It is in its seventh year now and happening strong in Ghana.
But that word “detty december” has grown beyond Mr Eazi and the Detty Rave as many people in the diaspora term to call the whole happening in the two West African countries (Ghana and Nigeria) during early to late December, sometimes early January as detty december.
Nigerians and Ghanaians in the diaspora visit the countries in flock with friends who are foreigners just to enjoy the parties and connect back to the culture.

DETTY DECEMBER PARTIES TO TRY IN NIGERIA AND GHANA
1. DETTY RAVE, ACCRA
First start of course would be Mr Eazi’s Detty Rave happening in Accra, Ghana from the 27th of December, 2025.

2. VIBES BARN’S DECEMBARN 2025, UYO.
If you do not like the rowdiness of Lagos or Accra and want a very quiet yet bubbling city that you can have fun and still party, then Uyo is a place you should explore for your detty December. With the Vibe Barn Decembarn happening through the 7th of December 2025 through January 4th 2026, you are sure at the right place. Expect party like never before with enough vibes across different days. That is like partying every Sunday in december, I don’t know what is dettier than that.

3. DETTY DECEMBER FEST, LAGOS
This is the party tagged “summer” in Nigeria and it is holding down Lagos Nigeria from 6th to 31st of December 2025. This parties at their finest as they have a large range of artists lined up to perform and you should not take my word for it but rather should find out here
4. FLYTIME FEST, Eko Hotel
Flytime has been around for some good decade and it is a show you should not miss. Did I say a show? it is parte after parte. From the 22nd to 25th of december, Lagos stands still for Flytime Fest.
5. Abuja is a place to be at all times, but what is better than clear roads and line up parties? Exactly why you should not miss The Capital Movement, a lot happens here, from Romies Bloc that happens ever Monday to Eden by Davidson, I have not seen a city that parties all day like Abuja, lowkey parties that you wouldn’t believe if just told.
